Neighborhood UNITY/RHO Transition

Neighborhood UNITY, a  Rhody Health Options (RHO) plan for adults receiving long-term services and supports through Medicaid and adults receiving both Medicare and Medicaid coverage –  ended on September 30, 2018. The program began in November 2013 through a contract with Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island and was designed to manage members' Medicaid-covered benefits.

As part of a concerted effort to better leverage all available health care dollars and promote access and service quality, Neighborhood UNITY customers will be enrolled in one of the following programs, beginning October 1.

  • Neighborhood INTEGRITY (Medicare-Medicaid Plan).
Members with dual coverage (Medicare and Medicaid) have an option to enroll in Neighborhood INTEGRITY to receive all their covered services through one plan.  For more information, see Neighborhood INTEGRITY.
  • Medicaid Fee-for-Service.  Members' Medicaid long-term services and supports (LTSS) and other Medicaid covered services will be through the RI Medicaid Program.
Members impacted by this transition include people with dual coverage (Medicare and Medicaid) and people with Medicaid who receive long-term services and supports, primarily Medicaid-funded nursing home care or home and community based services.

EOHHS is working with Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island and community partners to ensure a smooth transition for members who will be changing programs. If former Neighborhood UNITY members have questions, they can call our Call Center at 1-844-749-8323.
