If you, a family member, or friend needs long terms services and supports, you may be able to get the needed care at home or in a community based setting.

Description

Adult Day
Services
offer care and
companionship
during daytime
hours. At the end
of the day, you
return home.

Special programs
are often
available for
people with
dementia.

Assisted living is
an option if you
want company,
are in failing
heath, or need
24-hour support.

Some residences
take care of
people with
special dementia
needs.
The Assisted
Living
Residence must
be participating
in the Medicaid
program. Rooms
are doubles.
There are a
limited number
singles in a
select group of
Assisted Living
Residence

RIte at Home
shared living is
for adults who
cannot live alone
and require a
considerable
amount of help
with activities
of daily living.
A RIte @Home
agency can
help you find
an appropriate
trained host
home or
caregiver.
The caregiver
may be someone
you know,
like a relative,
neighbor or
friend, but NOT
a spouse.

The Program
for All Inclusive
Care for the
Elderly (PACE)
is a program
that enables
elders to remain
in their own
communities
for as long as
possible. The
PACE Program
contracts with
specific doctors,
home health and
other agencies
to provide your
care.

For Medicaid
beneficiaries
who have the
highest level
of need, PACE
offers skilled
nursing care.

If you qualify
for RI Medicaid
LTSS, you may
be able to hire
and manage your
own caretaker
who can help
you with
bathing, dressing
and other home
activities through
the Personal
Choice Program
